In my opinion, it is only fitting that December of each year, Rotary designates as Disease Prevention and Treatment Month. What our organization does for humanity is a gift indeed. A gift of life to so many. To many more, a gift of improved quality of life and less suffering for those that need our help the most. We believe strongly that good health care is a basic right for everyone. It is estimated that over 400 million in the world can’t afford or don’t have access to basic health care.

Rotary Club of Austin decided to honor some of our front line heroes in a unique way during this pandemic at the Georgetown Field of Honor event. Over 1700 flags are set to fly the week of November 7-15 to honor, thank or remember those we believe in or have lost. This is the 4th annual Field of Honor® to be held again this year at San Gabriel Park in Georgetown!
Northwest Austin Rotary making a difference this holiday by providing for all of the food needs for Families in Transition (FIT) kids in Pond Springs Elementary School for the Thanksgiving Break.
This project provides “Rotary Club of Bastrop County” support of the “In the Streets Hands Up High” program https://www.itshuh.org/. This valuable community services program provides support of people (including veterans) with challenges such as homelessness, addiction, food, and employment.
The Rotary Club of Austin made an impact volunteering at the Central Texas Food Bank. Members packed up 16,000 meals in record time! This was the perfect event to mask, glove and socially distance for the benefit of others!

Street Books ATX serves people who cannot frequent libraries easily. Patrick Crowley, director, takes his mobile unit to places people have a hard time checking out books.
On November 7, 2020, Killeen Heights Rotary Club teamed up with the Rotary Club of Geogetown at their “Field of Honor” 1,700 flag event at San Gabriel Park to honor our veterans, members of the military, and our first responders.
On Nov. 7th, some members of the Rotary Club of Killeen Heights met at a business in Downtown Killeen to assemble 54 breakfast bags which included fruit, water and a snack bar.
Rotary Club Cedar Park Leander donated a car to a single mom in their community!! It was presented by Moriah Eberhart during a charity event with Deb's Dream, Inc on Oct 24, 2020.
On November 21, 2020, the Rotary Club of Killeen Heights participated in the Wreaths For Vets event preparing more than 11,000 wreaths alongside hundreds of volunteers.
On November 20, 2020, the Killeen Heights Rotary Club held their annual 2020 FOOD FOR FAMILIES DRIVE from 6:30am to 6:00pm. Past President Jim Bondi presented a check donation of $2,176 to Food For Families/Food Care Center.
