Grants Management Training Dates
Every year clubs wanting to participate in Rotary Grants in District 5870 need to complete the qualification process.   Part of that process is to have two members (one of whom is the incoming president) attend a Grant Management Training Seminar (GMTS).  If a member attended training in 2018, he or she is eligible to attend the 1-hour refresher class in 2019.  If not, that person must attend the full 3-hour class.  Grant Management Training is an annual requirement. The training dates are:

  • March 3, 2019 - DFW
    • 3 hour Grants Management Training Seminar (During Lone Star PETS, 8:30AM)

CE Gene Neal Memorial Match
PDG Gene Neal was a tremendously dedicated Rotarian.  A 50+ year member of the Rotary Club of Fairfield, Gene served as Governor of District 587 in 1975-76 (not a typo – we didn’t have the last digit in 1975).  At Carlos Conseco’s request, Gene agreed to serve as one of the founding members of Rotary’s initiative to end Polio.  He and Past RI Director Jack Forrest, a member of the Rotary Club of Mexia, share the distinction of being the only two Rotarians in the history of our District to have earned both the Service Above Self Award, and the Rotary Foundation Distinguished Service Award.
