Georgetown Rotarian Recognized for Outstanding Service

At a recent meeting, the Rotary Club of Georgetown recognized Rotarian Carl Alaniz for his exceptional dedication to the club's Human Trafficking Awareness (HTA) Mobile Unit. While many members and community partners have benefited from the mobile unit over the years, Carl has been the driving force behind its operation. He serves as the primary driver, oversees maintenance, coordinates logistics, and is often the person ensuring the unit is ready whenever and wherever it is needed.

2026 Rotary Law Enforcement Appreciation Banquet Held in Caldwell

On June 25th, 2026, the Rotary Club of Caldwell held its annual banquet and award program at the Caldwell Civic Center. The goal of the evening was to come together to show community support for the law enforcement agencies in Burleson county. This year marked the 25th year of the annual event started by former DA Charles Sebesta.

Bastrop Recognized as BISD Community Partner

Bastrop ISD honored Bastrop Rotary last week for being a BISD Community Partner. The Club participates in the School District’s Adopt-a-School program, supporting teachers with materials for the Staff Workroom, providing Holiday meals for staff, and donating gifts for an “Angel Tree” at Christmas.

Rotary Club of Flatonia Welcomes New Leadership for 2026 2027

On Tuesday, June 23, the Governor of Rotary District 5870 officially launched his 2026-2027 Rotary year by installing the officers and Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of Flatonia. During the installation ceremony, District Governor Jeff Coleman administered the oath of office to the club’s leadership team, marking the beginning of a new year of service to the Flatonia community and beyond.

To honor the memory of a beloved Rotarian Erik Svenkerud, the E-Club of Central Texas established a scholarship in his name. To raise funds for this endeavor, a raffle was set up and proved to be very successful.

Temple Installs First Peace Pole at Historic Jackson Park

On June 4, the Rotary Club of Temple dedicated a Rotary Peace Pole as a symbol of hope, unity, and our shared commitment to a better world. It was installed at the historic Jackson Park, where Temple Rotarians installed a fountain in 1935. The Temple club’s historical marker honoring its 100th anniversary in 2021 also is at the park.

Waco Sunrise Seed Service Project

Waco Sunrise Rotary Club packed thousands of wildflower seed packets and rolled hundreds of information scrolls about the Monarch butterfly to be handed out by Asst. District Governor Margaret Ferguson at the 8th Annual Rotary Xperience held in Dallas, this April.

Honoring a Quiet Champion of Service

For nearly 20 years, Larry Baird has exemplified Rotary's motto of Service Above Self, and since joining the Texas Ramp Project in 2012, Larry has dedicated countless hours to improving lives—one wheelchair ramp at a time. Leading volunteers from the Rotary Club of Georgetown and Retirees in Action, Larry has helped lead the construction of more than 600 wheelchair ramps, providing safety, independence, and dignity to individuals throughout our community. His dedication and leadership have also earned him the role of Williamson County Regional Coordinator for the Texas Ramp Project.
