The Rotary Club of Bastrop County plans to host a BBQ Festival Event in on Sep 3-5, 2021. This includes a “sanctioned BBQ competition, fundraising, Fun, and Information event” with goals of having a major event in Bastrop, raising funds (primarily for local organizations and projects), fun, and information activities.
This event would be held in on Labor Day weekend 2021 (and commemoration of the famous 2011 Wildfires). One aspect is a “sanctioned Barbecue competition”. Another aspect is fundraising where the goal is to raise funds primarily for support of valuable causes with emphasis on some example organizations and projects which support our Bastrop area community. The fundraising aspect will include a silent auction (held virtually) followed by a brief “Hybrid” in-person and virtual auction on September 4. The auctions will focus mainly on items, experiences, or services of value and both donations (including from businesses) and bidding is invited. Support of community (local and larger) is a key kay goal of our Rotary Club. This event should help raise funds (mainly for local organizations and projects) and be entertaining. This event should help raise awareness of the greatness of Bastrop and help provide a valuable event in Bastrop on Labor Day.
