PFC Garza and her husband spent a special complimentary weekend in Austin at the Hampton Inn Cedar Park. This program called Operation Vacation Ft Hood was started by the Rotary Clubs of Austin and Killeen fifteen years ago as a way to thank our military soldiers for their service.
The hotel furnished a two night stay with breakfast each morning. The County Line on the Hill provided a fabulous BBQ dinner Saturday with all the trimmings. The Rotary Club of Killeen arranged a rent car and gas money for the couple and the Rotary Club of Austin set up a gift bag with fast food gift cards, groceries, snacks and free passes to Austin Parks and Pizza. This is such a fun way to show our military that we care. Thanks!
