Our social gathering was a pure delight and very special. We begin the evening with a meet and greet over appetizers in Alison Batlin's living room and plenty of fine wine to drink.
There were about 35 people there and it was a lovely celebration of remembering past club members and loved ones. Woody Russell is an excellent performer and played quite a mix of songs from multiple genres, including “Danny boy” and another classic Irish folk songs a cappella. Songs were requested by those attending. Alison is an absolute generous host and was walking around during the entire evening giving hugs, making sure that people had tissues and wine. Again, Woody was excellent, and his music was beautiful, healing, and brought many to tears, as they had memories flowing through their minds. It was fantastic to see Steve Batlin and Steve Ross, long time members who seldom get out enjoying the outdoor concert. The weather was superb, with just a gentle breeze, and the rain held out until late that night! We laughed, we cried, we ate and drank, shared stories and hugs! Plus Erica got a Paul Harris 6 pin last night!
