Rotary International President Shekhar Mehta has challenged every Club to plan and host at least one practical and action-oriented Rotary Day of Service during the 2021-22 Rotary year.
The event should address a challenge facing your community that fits in one or more of Rotary’s areas of focus and brings together volunteers from within and outside of Rotary.

Here are some ideas for December Rotary Days of Service:

1.    For the Hungry:
Food Drives and Working in Food Pantries, Ringing the Bell for the Salvation Army.  Volunteer at the Central Texas Food Bank, Senior Citizen Centers or Homeless Shelter kitchens or provide a meal at the kitchens

2.    Empowering Girls and Women:
Support the local Domestic Violence Centers with Holiday Gifts and meals for the Victims.  Support a local family/families with gifts and meals

3.    Promoting Peace:
Support local organizations during the holidays--Blue Santa (law enforment toy drive), Angel Tree (toy drive for children of incarcerated parents)  Provide meals for first responders/law enforcement working on the holidays

4.    Providing support for those who don't have loved ones during the holidays:
Provide griipper socks, toiletries, lap blankets for local nursing home and VA residents, provide food, blankets, toys etc for animals in animal shelters
