In May, the Rotary Club of Belton held a dedication ceremony for a Rotary bench and Little Library at Jeff Hamilton Park in Belton, TX.
The neighborhood park is highly visible and houses a playground, walking trail and is adjacent to a middle school.  In August, a member of the community reached out to the Rotary Club to make members aware that the Little Free Library needed attention.  This individual frequented the library and was concerned that the books would become damaged.  With notice of the needed repairs, the Rotary Club of Belton wasted no time fixing the structure.  Thanks to the handy work of Member Jared Porritt, the structure was repaired, upgraded, and is once again serving the community.  The library is often updated by Member James Proctor, as he shares his beloved wife’s book collection.  Club members are thrilled to share this little treasure with the park visitors and projects like this can only be successful when they are utilized by many.  Thank you to the community member that reached out about the needed maintenance…it takes a village!!
