The Rotary Club of Flatonia will hold their annual Pints For Polio Fundraiser on Saturday, 4 March 2023, from 6-8 PM. The local sponsors will be Henry K’s, Wine Haus, and Red Vault Bistro, all located in downtown Flatonia.
Poliomyelitis (Polio) is a highly infectious disease that most commonly affects children under the age of 5.  There is no cure, but is preventable with a vaccine.

Rotary members have contributed more than $2.1 billion and countless volunteer hours delivering vaccines to protect nearly 3 billion children in 122 countries from this paralyzing disease.  Rotary’s advocacy efforts have played a role in decisions by governments to contribute more than $10 billion to the effort.

Since 1988, there has been a worldwide reduction in polio cases of 99.9%.  For more than three years, there have been wild polio cases in only two countries, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The Rotary Club of Flatonia’s Pints For Polio Fundraiser will help in eradicating this disease forever.   All proceeds raised will be matched 2 to 1 by the generous support of the Gates Foundation.
