The Taylor Rotary Club is bringing attention to the fight against Polio with its Pies for Polio fundraiser in downtown Taylor on Oct. 20.
"Our goal is to raise $1,500 with this effort but even more than that, we want people to think about the devastating impact Polio has on people around the world and the threat it poses to the US," Club President Tia Rae Stone said. Four members of the club and one city councilman answered the call to raise $250 each and take a pie in the face. The top earner will get to put a pie in the face of the current club president.

"We decided to do the main pie-event right before one of our big, monthly community events," Stone added. "So all those gathered to hear Music on Main at 7 p.m. will be treated to a pie-ing at 6:30." The Club invites Rotarians from around the area to attend and be part of the fun. Music on Main will be held in Heritage Square on Main Street between 4th and 5th Streets in Taylor.
