Marble Falls Rotary Club hosted Pies & Pints for Polio Thursday, October 20 in Harmony Park in downtown. Marble Falls Police Chief Glenn Hanson and Fire Chief Russell Sander were pitted against each other in a campaign to raise funds for polio.
Marble Falls Mayor, Richard Westerman, announced the highest fundraiser was Chief Hansen, allowing the chief to pie the fire chief in the face. Chief Sander tried to entice Chief Hansen with donuts to take a pie too. In the end, Chief Hanson and Mayor Westerman “pied” Chief Sander in the face. Collectively, both chiefs raised over $3,000 to end polio.
