The Rotary Club of Austin hosted a military family from Ft. Cavazoa over the Memorial Day weekend to thank them for his service.
Sgt. Carlos Reyes Canales and his family spent two nights at the Royal Sonesta Stephen F. Austin Hotel in downtown Austin. The Rotary Club of Killeen arranged a rent car and gas money. The County Line on the Hill provided a Texas style BBQ for the family on Saturday nite. The Rotary Club of Austin put together gift bags with t shirts, souvenirs, toys, books,snacks and gift cards for fast food and attractions. Carlos said, “This was the first time the family had free time to explore Austin and loved it! “ The Rotary Clubs participate in Operation Ft. Cavazoa once a month all year so they can thank our soldiers and their families for their sacrifice and give them quality time with their loved ones. Thanks Rotary for recognizing our military for the Rotary’s mission Service Above Self and praying to keep them safe.
