Marble Falls Rotary Club hosted its 21st annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on September 11th at the Rotary Veterans and First Responder Memorial at Johnson Park in Marble Falls.
“The Rotary Club of Marble Falls is honored each year to sponsor the 9/11 Day of Remembrance Ceremony, and to remind everyone that the great strength of America is found in the hearts and souls of its citizens,” event organizer Steve Hurst stated. Fire Chief and Rotary Member Russell Sander and Firefighter Tim Pierce led the Ringing of the Bell during the event and Past President Lorinda Peters closed the event with a bagpipe rendition of Amazing Grace.
Area First Responders and members of the public attended the event and to remember the 343 firefighters, 23 police officers, and 8 EMS workers who died on that fateful day.
