One of the greatest and most valuable projects our Rotary club does is Operation Vacation. Every month Ft. Hood selects a family to be honored with a free R&R weekend in Austin. The Austin Hotel Lodging Association Partners with the Rotary Clubs of Austin and Killeen and the County Line Restaurants to make this a fun, worry free and all expense paid event for the soldiers so they can have quality time with their families. This month we actually had two families: one hosted by The W Hotel and the other by the Hilton Austin Airport. Both families were treated to dinner at the County Line Saturday nite with all the trimmings. What a great way to thank our military for their service and let them know they are appreciated.
