Our Empowering Girls event on Saturday, April 24 was a great success. The district prepared nineteen kits to be distributed in Honduras. Each kit lasts a girl for three years, giving them back about 60 days for school, work, and living!
We had four clubs from the district represented at the event (Georgetown, Taylor, Temple South, and Austin North Metro Passport), and many, many clubs who contributed supplies and donations. It was exciting to see volunteers of all ages as some Rotarians brought their children to help too! Volunteers helped prep, sew, and label supplies, then assemble the kits. In addition to the service project, the Georgetown Rotary Club donated over $4500 worth of supplies to Days for Girls Georgetown with their club’s DAP Grant!  Many volunteers plan to continue helping with Days for Girls. Our district has made such an impact through this grant.
