On January 26, Marble Falls Rotary in conjunction with Marble Falls ISD coordinated the annual career day for approximately 160 high school juniors.
The day is designed for the students to gain real world experience in the field they are interested in as well as learn about the education requirements. While most students learned about their career interests, a few learned the career was not what they thought and now considering other options. There were 26 careers offered that included law enforcement, firefighting and EMS, animal science, attorney and legal, construction just to name a few. 54 Rotary members served as team leaders and approximately 55 businesses or careers fields that help host the students. Rotary President Kim Kankel stated “This project is very important to our community, if we are going to continue to grow and thrive, we need these younger kids, those younger professionals that will come up and take over when we retire.”
