We are excited to continue our long tradition of collecting Coats for Kids Southwest in conjunction with the Travis County West Rural Center.  The West Rural Center is a non-profit run by volunteers that supports the Travis County Community Center in Oak Hill.
Coats are needed for all ages and sizes.  With the ice storm we had last winter and our unusual summer weather, we want to be prepared to hand out lots of coats for the kids.  Our goal is to break the record number of coats collected which is 210.  Collection will begin October 4 and the deadline for receiving coats and monetary donations is December 7.  Distribution day will be December 11.

We do accept gently used coats which are cleaned by Wash and Dry Cleaners. There will be barrels and boxes located in the southwest area of Austin and these locations will be listed on our club website soon.

We will be happy to pick up coats in Austin. To schedule a pickup, please call George at 512-468-5829.

If you would like to make a monetary donation, please forward your check to any club member or to Rotary Club of Austin-Southwest, P O Box 90392, Austin, TX  78709-0392. The average cost of a coat is $12.00.

Hey Austin Area Rotary Clubs….would you be interested in a competition? Can you beat our goal of 215?  There will be a prize involved.  If interested, please contact Gary at 512-786-6528.
